Keith and Susanne Lewis moved to Glyncoch in September 2015. We are hoping to learn from this community and to explore ways of working together to bring about a positive difference in areas such as community development and income generation. Unemployment is high in this area and so we are keen to see what can be done to address this.
Glyncoch (Welsh for Red Valley) is a small council estate of about 1300 homes. Located on the side of the valley 2 miles from the nearest town (Pontypridd) it has the feel of a village. It has glorious views across the valley and is surrounded by fields. Despite its semi-rural location it shares many of the issues experienced by more urban estates.
